Karim is an International Tax Director, within the International Tax Services Line. Karim has over 14 years of specialized experience, and a comprehensive background in tax policies, legal frameworks, international tax agreements; Karim possesses a strong understanding of complex tax regulations.
His latest role being a Tax Consultant at the Egyptian Tax Authority in the Ministry of Finance, in the Advance Ruling Committee & International Tax Department. His expertise extends to advising businesses on global tax policies, while also managing BEPS compliance as well as Two Pillars Solutions.
Karim’s profession is also highlighted by being a Tax expert at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and is also recognized as a certified International Tax trainer by the OECD.
Karim holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degrees in law as well as an Advanced Diploma in Tax Policies. Karim earned a Ph.D. in International Tax in 2025, with a dissertation titled "Tax Challenges Arising from Digitalization." His research explored the impact of digitalization on global tax policies, focusing on cross-border taxation and regulatory challenges. It provided policy recommendations to address tax avoidance and ensure fair tax distribution in the digital economy.
